Grief

Grief is like an anchor that fixes you firmly in place.
If you are very "strong" you may continue along,
   dragging it behind,
scarcely aware the damage it's doing.

Eventually, though, you will need to reel it in.

Of course, you can always attempt to simply "cut the line,"
Untether yourself and leave it behind.
But, the time will come when you realize that
The great weight held within that anchor will be needed again.

But what if instead of dragging the anchor we picked it up and carriend it? No damage being done in its wake and we become that much stronger from carrying such a great weight. We may even find that there are others who recognize those of us who are carrying our anchors rather than letting them drag us down as they were once anchor bearers themselves. Those others are strong and have build up great muscles and can easily help us with our load.
